Dawn Richard continues to push and promote her new album ‘Blackheart’ this week, unleashing the visual beast that is her ‘Projection‘ video for her fans.
Indeed, as the careers of her former Danity Kane members continue to snap, crackle and flop, Richard makes her way to higher creative ground with a video that precedes her forthcoming show at London’s Jazz Cafe on June 2nd.
Will the clip help to move sales of the album and the show’s tickets?

I hate this style of music. Soo boring, it’s like everyone wants to seem deep .. This doesn’t connect well.
It’s songs like this that should be easy to connect too and no singer is going to put out dance or pop music without two or three meaningful ballads.
But who has she connected with? How many people go out to support her and her style of music!? If you say sales don’t matter, then who’s listening?

You do realise this is an indie artist right? If you know what an indie artist is you would not be asking all these questions, instead you would be asking how does she continuously releases videos and albums for her fan at at this level without a label and managers promoting and ramming her down our throat, and yes she has fans, not like the Beyonces or Rihannas, but she has fans supporting her music from day one.

I love her. She’s so dope and everything she puts out is creative and satisfying. I can’t believe she consistently provides quality work despite being independent.
It’s kind of cute in a ‘My All’ way, but I don’t see this video pushing the song or her album anywhere. She looks stunning though.

The video is simply, it suits the song, and it does what it suppose to do as far bringing out the message in the song in very expressible simple manner

I love this, but nothing, and I mean NOTHING from ‘Blackheart’s’ visuals have met or exceeded “Tide: The Paradox Effect”. I absolutely LOVE that song and video! ♥ I only wish she had made the song, not just the video, available for download instead of only including it on her vinyl release.
I’m absolutely here for whatever Dawn does, but if she makes a visual for “Phoenix” and includes Aundrea Fimbres, I just might poop myself! LOL!
Also, it’s very satisfying to see Dawn getting all this love from St. Heron. Solange seems to think that Dawn is dope, so I’m sure Beyonce probably has heard of her by now too. As many moves Dawn is making in front of the screen, I willing to bet just as many, if not more, are being made behind the screen. Dawn is here for the long haul.
